The Challenge: A 3-Day Rajasthani Wedding with 800 Guests
Rajesh Patel, a wedding photographer based in Jaipur, was hired for a lavish 3-day Rajasthani wedding at City Palace. The family's requirement was clear: "We want every guest to have their photos before they leave."
With 800+ guests across mehendi, sangeet, and the main wedding ceremony, the old workflow of editing → uploading → sending Google Drive links a week later simply would not work. The family had seen AI Face Search at another wedding and specifically asked for it.
The Setup: FTPix + Canon R5 + Portable WiFi
Rajesh's gear for the event:
- 2x Canon EOS R5 — both configured for WiFi FTP transfer to FTPix
- 1x TP-Link M7350 portable router — dedicated network for cameras and phone
- FTPix Studio Plan — unlimited events, unlimited photos, AI Face Search, custom branding
- Custom QR code table cards printed by the wedding planner — placed on every dinner table
Gallery Configuration
Rajesh created one event in FTPix with 3 sub-events: Mehendi, Sangeet, and Wedding. He chose the "Wedding Royal" theme, uploaded the couple's logo (their initials in calligraphy), and set a custom welcome message: "Ankit & Priya — 18-20 Feb 2026".
Day 1: Mehendi — 1,200 Photos
Both cameras were shooting and transferring simultaneously. By the time Rajesh moved from the bride's side to the groom's mehendi ceremony, the first 400 photos were already in the gallery.
"I saw aunties at the mehendi ceremony pulling out their phones, scanning the QR code, and squealing when they found their photos. One of them came up to me and said — 'beta, yeh toh kamaal hai!' That's when I knew FTPix was worth it." — Rajesh Patel
AI Face Search usage on Day 1: 340 unique selfie searches. Average time from selfie to results: 2.3 seconds.
Day 2: Sangeet — 1,600 Photos
The sangeet was the biggest test — dim lighting, dance floor, and 800 people in a banquet hall. Rajesh shot at ISO 3200-6400, and the WiFi transfer kept pace thanks to JPEG-only FTP (RAWs saved to card for later editing).
Something interesting happened: guests started sharing the gallery link on WhatsApp groups. The family had 3 WhatsApp groups for the wedding (bride's side, groom's side, friends), and by 10 PM, the gallery had been opened on 620 unique devices.
📊 Key Stat: 78% of all gallery visitors used AI Face Search within the first minute of opening the gallery. Wedding guests want to find their photos — not scroll through thousands.
Day 3: Wedding Ceremony — 2,200 Photos
The main event. Baraat at 8 AM, pheras at 11 PM, vidaai at 2 AM. Over 18 hours of shooting, 2,200 JPEGs transferred through FTPix in real-time.
The peak moment came during the baraat: Rajesh was photographing the groom on the horse while the baraat dance photos were already appearing in the gallery. Guests were showing each other their baraat photos while the baraat was still happening.
The Father of the Bride Moment
At dinner after the pheras, the bride's father came to Rajesh and said: "Mere phone mein already 200+ photos hain meri beti ke. Pehle toh 2 hafte lagte the. Aaj mere paas hain jab shaadi abhi khatam bhi nahi hui." (I already have 200+ photos of my daughter. Earlier it took 2 weeks. Today I have them while the wedding isn't even over.)
The Results
- 5,000+ photos delivered across 3 days
- 800+ unique gallery visitors
- 2,800+ AI Face Searches performed
- 12,000+ photo downloads by guests
- Zero delivery delay — photos in gallery within 30 seconds of shooting
- 4 new bookings Rajesh got from guests at the wedding who saw the system in action
What Rajesh Would Do Differently
- Bring 2 portable routers — At one point the router temporarily lost connectivity when moved between halls. A backup would have prevented a 5-minute gap.
- Print more QR codes — The table cards worked great, but the outdoor baraat area had none. A large standee with the QR code at the entrance would have helped.
- Create sub-events upfront — Rajesh created the Mehendi sub-event on site. Creating all 3 sub-events before the wedding saves time.
